Isaac Glover
Isaac Glover is an Australian composer. Born in outback Queensland, he always showed a keen interest in rhythm and music. As a child, he took lessons in Irish dancing, where he was exposed at a young age the power of music and the way rhythm is incorporated into it. He took on percussion lessons during his primary school years, and from there his love for music continued to grow. His music lessons exposed him to a myriad of genres; he played in the local concert band, school bands, and the local symphonic orchestra. He also participated in the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) in Cairns and in Brisbane, where he played in the percussion section under the direction of renowned composers such as Brian Hogg and Richard L. Saucedo. Additionally, he had the amazing opportunity to play with renowned musicians such as: James Morrison, Emma Pask and Warrick Tyrell for the Symphony of the Inalnd Sea which debuted mid-2015 in Mount Isa. He carried his skills over to Newcastle, NSW, where he played as a percussionist in the UoN Arts Orchestra, Newcastle Chamber Orchestra, The Newcastle Youth Orchestra, Central Coast Symphonic Orchestra, and the 2-time national championship B Grade Waratah Brass Band. He graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2020 with a bachelor of music (with distinction). He was placed on the staff commendation list for the faculty of education and arts in 2019 and 2020. He also was the recipient of the Relocation Program Scholarship, and the Tertiary Music Education scholarship. He has completed his Masters degree in film music at the Australian Film Television Radio School (AFTRS) where he was taught by Cameron Patrick and Greg Wise. He focussed his exegesis on the effects of characterisation in queer protagonists in film when non-diegetic music used licensed music as opposed to original scoring.
During his time as a composer, Isaac has had his original compositions and arrangements played in: Norway, Thailand, New Zealand, Germany, USA, Canada, and Australia. He has had the distinct pleasure of collaborating with Raymond Ennoksen, a renowned Norwegian film composer. They created an arrangement of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” which was performed by a live orchestra for an episode of Maestro, a reality TV series broadcasted on NrkTV. Isaac has a strong attachment to orchestral composing, and also a focus on chamber orchestras where he is able to bring forth an intimate connection between the listener and his music. You can see some of his work available here on this website (see his portfolio here), and also on his YouTube Channel.
Isaac is currently residing in Sydney, NSW. He is open for collaboration on any sort of project (short films, documentaries, commissioned work for orchestras or chamber ensembles). He is proficient in notation software such as Sibelius, and is also proficient in LogicPro. If you feel he’s the right fit for your next project, feel free to contact him.
